As a clinician, it is Danny's preference to work with individuals between the ages of 11 and 65 years old. However, she also recognizes the importance of being flexible and adaptable in her approach and is committed to tailoring her services to meet the unique needs of each client, regardless of their age.
When working together, you will partake in a collaborative journey identifying key areas of treatment focus. A warm, safe, and supportive environment will be provided to build on strengths, facilitate change, process traumas, and recognize further areas for growth. As case needs may differ from person to person, a variety of therapeutic approaches may be utilized within the session to assist you in reaching your goals. Techniques may be derived from the following: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Family Behavioral Therapy (FBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfullness-Based (MBCT), and Person-Centered Therapy. Danny offers individual, family, and couples counseling services. She believes that addressing mental health concerns through a range of therapeutic modalities can help clients achieve lasting positive change in their lives. Whether working with an individual, a couple, or a family, her goal is to create a non-judgmental and affirming environment that fosters growth and healing.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
During my childhood, I received counseling services that left me feeling unsatisfied and wanting more. This experience left an impression and motivated me to reflect on ways in which the care I received could have been improved to better foster feelings of growth and understanding. As I grew older, I decided to enter the mental health field with the goal of ensuring that the best quality care is provided to clients. My commitment lies in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel heard, valued, and empowered to work towards their goals and achieve lasting positive change.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I do not have a preference for a specific target population of clients. I am eager and excited to work with each individual person and approach their unique needs with an open mind and fresh perspective.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Self-care maintenance is more than just indulging in spas and rest. It is about identifying and evaluating the sources of stress in your life and developing a plan of action through daily helpful coping skills and positive activities to combat burnout, increase feelings of productivity, and foster positive relationships. By prioritizing self-care, you can improve your overall well-being and achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks provides me with a platform and the necessary resources to be the best therapist I can be to a diverse range of clients, while also supporting my current lifestyle. As someone who values staying connected with loved ones and support systems through frequent travel, I appreciate Thriveworks' flexibility and support in encouraging my healthy work-life balance.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by a variety of cultural traditions, opportunities for lived experiences through travel, and the unique differences in people's phenomenological realities. I believe that these diverse perspectives enrich my work as a therapist and contribute to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the human experience.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, clients can expect a focus on building rapport and establishing a safe and supportive environment in which to discuss their presenting problems. I believe that creating a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding is crucial to achieving positive outcomes in therapy.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
By the end of the first session, clients can expect to complete an intake assessment and have any questions they may have about the treatment process answered to the best of my abilities. I strive to ensure that my clients feel informed and comfortable with how the counseling process will proceed.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I utilize a participatory and open-minded approach to treatment, which involves active collaboration with clients. Psychoeducation is frequently incorporated into my therapeutic approach to help clients gain a better understanding of their presenting problems. Clients can expect therapeutic activities and homework assignments throughout the course of treatment.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my free time, I enjoy attending community events & musicals, exploring new foods, traveling abroad, participating in book club discussions, and watching anime.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am a huge foodie and love exploring new cuisines! Whether it's trying out the latest trendy restaurant or discovering a hidden gem in a local neighborhood, I am always on the lookout for delicious dishes to indulge in.
