About Danielle
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 6 years of experience helping the Central Florida community heal from traumatic experiences. In addition to my work with trauma, I have experience in treating addiction, co-dependency, depression, anxiety, bipolar, and abuse. I am also familiar with suicide prevention. I enjoy seeing my clients grow through their experiences and I'm passionate about helping clients who may be ambivalent about change. I am a lifelong learner that enjoys attending professional training and engaging in local issues that directly impact my community.
I completed my Master of Social Work at the University of Central Florida. I utilize customized interventions based on client needs, such as solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness through various types of meditation.
Dealing with the curveballs that life throws at us can be so challenging. I am ready to support and guide you through what you are experiencing by offering a safe place to explore and embrace your authentic self. Reach out to me today to schedule an appointment!

"My favorite part of being a therapist is helping my clients navigate their problems by showing them their innate strengths."

My therapist did a great job of listening to what had not worked for me in the past to increase the chances of what she did recommend working. And it did!

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
Throughout my childhood, I would have really benefited from the guidance of a therapist. However, because of the stigma surrounding mental health treatment I never got to experience the benefits of therapy. It gives me great hope that as I have come into adulthood, mental health is widely discussed more and more each day and I am honored to be an advocate and ally to those who are ready to take a step forward in living a full and happy life.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work well with clients who are both ready and hesitant to make a change in their life. I have also had many successful outcomes with clients who struggle with multiple diagnoses (co-occurring disorders).
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who want to heal from their traumas. Trauma can cause significant disruption in someone's life, and over the years I have developed a significant amount of interventions that will address its symptoms and help clients grow around their trauma instead of allowing it to grow around them.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that therapy can be challenging at times, but there is support every step of the way and the work you put it will be well worth the outcome!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I choose to practice at Thriveworks because the support I receive as a clinician from peers and administration allows me to be the very best therapist I can for my clients.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by those who choose to challenge themselves - whatever that may mean for them. It gives me hope when I see someone who takes life's challenges in stride and thinks of ways to create something constructive out of difficult situations.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
What a client can expect from me in the first session may vary based on what the client needs. For many clients this will be a significant amount of active listening about their history and goals for treatment. Some clients may come to our first session with questions for me, and I embrace that! Opening up to someone new can be challenging for some people and I am here to make the process as comfortable as possible.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Giving them hope that therapy can work for them, and that I am here to support them in anyway I can.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
Clients should know that I like to make therapy fun every once in a while when it is appropriate because it makes it an enjoyable experience.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy paddle boarding and going out on adventures with my husband to taste all the good food Orlando, Florida has to offer! I also love taking my dogs out to swim and enjoy the outdoors with me.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is how much I care about the people in my life. Connectivity to others is an incredibly important value to me and has allowed me to meet some pretty incredible people throughout my life.
