About Alysia
I am a licensed mental health therapist with experience working with children, adolescents, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, TF-CBT, and family systems strategies to help clients build coping skills, improve communication, and better understand their emotions. While much of my work focuses on youth and families, I'm also open to working with adults, couples, and individuals seeking support, growth, and meaningful change.
I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach focused on building practical skills for daily life. Using CBT, TF-CBT, and family systems strategies, I help clients manage anxiety, process trauma, and improve communication. Clients can expect a supportive space to grow, feel understood, and make meaningful, lasting change.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and that's OK. You don't have to go through it alone. I'm here to support you at your pace in a safe, understanding space. When you feel ready, I invite you to take the next step toward healing and growth.

"As one who has experienced personal trauma and loss, I believe therapy should feel like a safe, supportive space where you can be your authentic self while building the tools and confidence needed to navigate life’s challenges. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My decision to become a counselor was shaped by my own experiences navigating difficult life challenges. During that time, I recognized a need for compassionate, informed support and felt called to be part of that change. With my background in Chemistry, I also value helping clients understand the science behind what they’re experiencing, making mental health feel more approachable and empowering.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with children, adolescents, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and family conflict. I also enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to better understand themselves, improve relationships, and build healthier coping skills. While much of my experience is with youth and families, I am open to supporting adults and couples seeking growth and change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Therapy isn’t about being “fixed”—it’s about understanding yourself on a deeper level. Many of the thoughts, emotions, and reactions you experience are your brain’s way of trying to cope and protect you, and when you begin to understand that, real and lasting change becomes possible.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy, without any pressure to share more than you’re ready for. Early on, we’ll focus on building a safe, supportive space, understanding your experiences, and starting to make sense of your thoughts and emotions. As we move forward, we’ll work together to build practical tools and strategies that help you feel more confident, supported, and in control in your daily life.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is shaped by both my professional training and my personal experiences navigating life’s challenges. Those experiences have deepened my empathy and understanding of how overwhelming it can feel to seek support. I value creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and supported, while also incorporating my background in science to help make sense of what they’re experiencing and empower meaningful change.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking the time to truly understand each client’s experiences, strengths, and goals, recognizing that no two people are the same. I adapt my approach using evidence-based methods like CBT, TFCBT, and family systems strategies, while also adjusting the pace and focus based on what feels most helpful for you. My goal is to meet you where you are and create a personalized experience that feels relevant, supportive, and effective.
