My name is Laura, and I am an LCSW dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, strengthen their emotional well-being, and develop the tools they need to live more fulfilling lives. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University and have over 12 years in the field. I work with individuals navigating stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family challenges, grief, major life transitions, or feelings of uncertainty and disconnection. My approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and respect for each person’s unique experiences.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing to help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, build healthier coping skills, and strengthen motivation for change. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered, empowering individuals to build confidence and achieve meaningful growth.
You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Taking the first step toward support can feel overwhelming, but you deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported. I invite you to schedule an appointment and begin your journey toward healing, growth, and a healthier, more fulfilling life.

"I believe that everyone deserves a safe, judgment-free space where they feel truly heard and understood and I approach therapy with empathy, authenticity, and respect for each person’s unique journey toward healing and growth."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a counselor because I have a genuine passion for helping people feel heard, understood, and supported through life’s challenges. I believe everyone deserves a safe space to explore their emotions, recognize their strengths, and discover their potential. Being able to support others in their healing, personal growth, and journey toward improved mental well-being is what makes this work meaningful to me.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are ready to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. I enjoy helping individuals navigate anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions while building healthy coping skills, increasing self-awareness, and developing the confidence and motivation to create meaningful, lasting change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish every client knew that healing isn’t a linear process, and they don’t have to have everything figured out to begin therapy. Growth takes time, and every small step forward matters. You deserve patience, compassion, and support throughout your journey, and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgmentfree environment where they feel comfortable sharing their experiences at their own pace. During our first session, we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your concerns, strengths, and goals. In the early stages, we’ll work together to build trust, identify challenges, and develop practical coping strategies using CBT and motivational interviewing to support meaningful, lasting progress.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by empathy, compassion, authenticity, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel heard, valued, and understood. I recognize that each person’s journey is unique, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore challenges without judgment. I value collaboration, personal growth, and meeting clients where they are while empowering them to build resilience, develop healthy coping skills, and create meaningful change.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking the time to understand each client’s unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals. Using CBT and motivational interviewing, I collaborate with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns, build effective coping strategies, and strengthen motivation for change. I adapt my approach to each person’s needs, pace, and comfort level, creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space that encourages growth, healing, and lasting progress.
