About Elia
Elia Vecchitto is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience, most of which have been spent serving in a community-based anti-poverty agency. She has experience working with diverse multicultural populations. Elia specializes in areas of depression, anxiety, panic, anger, trauma, substance use, healing from incarceration, chronic illness, and overall life stressors. Elia also has experience working with individuals living with and affected by HIV.
Elia earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. She uses a variety of treatment approaches that are unique to each person, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy/radical acceptance, mindfulness, psychotherapy, and solution-focused therapy.
Elia strongly believes in helping people grow and find their way. Most importantly, she wants to help unlock the strengths often weighed down by pain, self-doubt, and life stressors. Elia invites you to begin the journey of healing to feel more in control and achieve success in meeting your life's goals and expectations.

Get to know Elia
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In the first session, we will go through an initial intake process which includes completing the intake form, discussing what brought you into therapy and beginning to look at initial treatment goals. We will also address your schedule including days and frequency of sessions. Basically, the first session is an information gathering and getting to know you process. In addition, this first session process helps you to get a feel for the therapist and a beginning sense if I am a good treatment match for you. My goal in the first session if for you to walk away feeling knowledgeable in the process ahead and your questions answered.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
What individuals should know about me is that I am supportive and caring, easy going, likes humor, knowledgeable and intuitive. I am flexible to the needs of individuals while also firm on keeping you on track in treatment.
