About Lisa

Lisa Ferrante is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 12 years of experience and a background in crisis intervention, solution-focused counseling, and marriage and family counseling. She specializes in concerns that can arise from troubled relationships, including depression, anxiety, infidelity, divorce, abuse, and family conflict. By learning new skills, she believes everyone can alleviate resentment and remain secure when dealing with conflict with family, friends, or partners.

Lisa received her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University. She uses an emotionally focused approach to couples and family counseling, pulling from cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment-based therapy, and psychoanalytic therapy, among other methods.

Whether you find yourself falling into the same argument over and over with your loved ones or are new to dating and want to set yourself up for success, Lisa can help you find the security you’ve been looking for in a relationship. She is eager to meet you and encourages you to reach out today!

Get to know Lisa

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

Mental Health and Wellness is so important to live happily and successfully. I learned this very early on and J want to help others find this for themselves.

What types of clients do you work with best?

families and couples or individuals who want to discuss relationship, family or addiction issues.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Couples and Families

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

There is help for what you are going through! Sometimes just expressing your situation or feelings makes a big difference in how we feel and behave.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks is a growing practice and organization. Their expertise will help me develop my clinical skills more.

What inspires you?

Mental health and wellness inspire me. Healthy relationships inspire me.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

We will learn how to identify the problem areas in your life. whether it be in your family, relationship or even in your personal life . We will start to understand what is missing and what needs to be done.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

In the first session, I would like for us to discuss the problem area so we will know how to proceed. If you are coming to me for relationship counseling, we will discuss your attachment style which will help us understand how to move forward.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I am here for you. Whatever your struggles are we can handle it together.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love to walk my Siberian Husky, spend time with my 2-year-old daughter and husband. I love to stay active with hiking, biking and walking and enjoying whatever nature has to offer. I love to travel, listen to music, and have dabbled in landscape photography in the past. I am also a Christian believer and love spending time with the Lord through the church on my days off.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

My belief in the Lord
