Get to know Cynthia
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a therapist so that I could provide clients with the tools to have healthy relationships. I also strive to help those who have experienced trauma stop the cycle and not continue the generational trauma path.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I excel with children and adolescents but also work well with adults, families, and couples.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with all clients as we are all different and are looking for therapy for different reasons.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
We are all human and make mistakes in life. No one is perfect and no one has all the answers.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by the persistence and motivation by my clients. Being able to see my clients have "aha" moments and recognize the changes they have made continues to motivate me to provide therapy to others.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session will be to gather information about the client and their family. We will also discuss why the client is seeking therapy and what they would like to achieve on their journey.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
My goal for the first session is to make a comfortable and safe space for the client. As well as obtaining a history to identify what areas need to be focused on and improved.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends and trying new food!
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
My goal is to assist client's in moving forward with their life and to not be stuck in the same cycle.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am defined by my honesty and compassion.
