About Alison
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with 3 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, couples, and families. My background also includes over 15 years in the healthcare field, which has strengthened my ability to help people improve their relationships with themselves, their partners, and their families. My work focuses on helping clients recognize and transform recurring patterns, reduce blame and shame, and create healthier ways of relating that foster understanding, compassion, and connection.
I earned my master’s in marriage and family therapy from Regis University. I use a humanistic, systemic, and experiential approach, integrating emotionally focused therapy, internal family systems, the Gottman method, and relational life therapy to help clients understand and change unhelpful patterns in their lives.
If you struggle with conflict, disconnection, or communication challenges, you’re not alone. It takes courage to ask for support, and taking that step is the first part of healing. I would be honored to walk beside you as you navigate your journey toward growth, self-awareness, and more fulfilling relationships. Let’s work together toward meaningful change.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My professional career in various roles has been in service to others. After serving in the military and supporting healthcare providers as an administrator, I changed course and became a clinician myself. Working as an LMFT affords a freedom to define problems differently. Instead of seeing a narrow cause and effect process, I consider what happens in the system and how parts of the system impact each other.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I am excited to work with families, couples, and individuals who are curious about their relating patterns, and are open and motivated to take small risks to grow and possibly heal.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Sometimes growth and healing is hard. And other times humans can struggle more than we need to. When you face a conflict (either internal or external), we all have three basic choices: accept it, shift your mindset to it, or leave it. Therapy is a place for you to grapple with these three basic choices with a supportive and understanding collaborator by your side.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect a warm, respectful, and curious space where we can build rapport and understanding in an environment. I'll want to explore what brings you into therapy now, how you hope I can be of help, and understand your goals and desired outcomes.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My personal values are integrity, freedom, compassion and wisdom. As a therapist and fellow human being, I strive to present myself as kind, authentic and straight forward. My role is to share potential risks and consequences about the relating patterns I observe. Overall I endeavor to show kindness and curiosity while clients grapple with choosing change while respecting their autonomy in whatever path they choose.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
As a LMFT, I'm trained to look at clients from a wider, systemic lens. This includes considering a client's cultural context, strengths, and values. Additionally, I explore with clients any previous therapy experiences (good or bad) and their expectations. Ultimately clinicians use their professional discernment to integrate different approaches and techniques that "fit" with a client's needs and goals they're hoping to achieve.
