About Thompson
I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker with 7 years of experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I bring a community-based and integrated healthcare perspective to my work, with a focus on stability, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. My goal is to help clients build the tools to face life’s challenges while creating space for healing and growth through a compassionate, strengths-based approach.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California, where I concentrated on clinical practice and trauma-informed care. I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques to promote empowerment, insight, and sustainable change in everyday life.
I believe healing begins with being seen and understood. Together, we’ll create a supportive space where your experiences are valued, and your goals are within reach. You don’t have to face challenges alone—therapy can help rebuild hope and strengthen your confidence in moving forward.

"As someone with lived experience in mental health and navigating social support systems, I bring a community-based understanding to my work with clients."
Get to know Thompson
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist to bridge the gap between lived experience and professional support. My own journey through mental health challenges and work in community settings showed me how powerful it can be to feel truly heard and guided toward healing.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with clients who are ready to engage in therapy—whether they already understand their mental health challenges or are just beginning to make sense of their symptoms. Together, we explore patterns, build insight, and develop practical tools for growth.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish clients knew that healing isn’t a straight path—there will be rainy days, but those moments often nurture the deepest growth.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, clients can expect an empathic space where they’re heard without judgment. I take time to understand their story, pay close attention to details, and use a person-centered approach to set meaningful goals for our work together.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is shaped by lived experiences with mental health and navigating community support systems. These experiences ground my values of empathy, cultural humility, and collaboration in helping clients find practical paths toward healing.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by meeting clients where they are—considering their strengths, background, and goals. I adjust my approach using evidence-based methods and ongoing feedback to ensure each session aligns with their unique needs and pace of growth.
