About Susan

I offer counseling and talk therapy services; however, I do not currently offer psychological testing. I am Susan Barrett, Psy.D., a licensed psychologist with 20 years of experience in mental health care. My passion is helping people build the skills and confidence they need for lasting change. I specialize in treating anxiety-related conditions—panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias, and ADHD—as well as adult autism spectrum disorder and depression.

I earned my master's in counseling psychology from the University of North Texas and my Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Ryokan College. I'm also a diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, having completed the rigorous training and supervision required to earn that distinction.

My approach to therapy is collaborative. I bring my clinical expertise together with your self-knowledge, past experiences, and preferences to build a plan that works for you. I want you to feel supported, understood, and valued from the start.

A thorough understanding of the problems to be addressed, the goals that will guide our work together, and a roadmap, or plan, for how we will accomplish those goals.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

In addition to reading, I enjoy hiking, and other outdoor activities, with my husband and our German Shepherd.
