About Sandy
Hi, I'm a therapist with a Master of Social Work who believes meaningful change happens through authentic connection. As a Hispanic therapist, I value the role culture, family, and lived experiences play in healing. My own experiences with loss and adversity have shaped the compassion I bring to my work. Drawing from relationship-based approaches, including DIR/Floortime, I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment principles, and DIR/Floortime. My goal is to help clients develop insight, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and gain practical tools to navigate life's challenges with confidence.
Life can bring moments of uncertainty, loss, and change, but you do not have to face them alone. I offer a compassionate, judgment-free space where you can feel seen, understood, and empowered. When you're ready, I invite you to take the next step and begin the process of healing, growth, and self-discovery.

"I know what it feels like to navigate life's hardest moments, and that lived experience helps me show up with genuine empathy, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping others heal."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a counselor because I have always felt drawn to helping others feel seen, understood, and supported. My own experiences with loss, adversity, and navigating difficult seasons in life have deepened my empathy and shaped the way I show up for others. Through years of volunteer work and my clinical experiences, I realized how powerful it can be to walk alongside someone as they heal, grow, and discover their own strengths.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I enjoy working with a diverse range of clients and value meeting each person where they are. My primary experience has been supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families navigating emotional challenges, life transitions, trauma, grief, anxiety, and neurodivergence. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and able to grow.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that therapy is not a linear journey, and progress does not always happen in a straight line. Finding the right therapist who you feel comfortable and connected with is an important part of the process. Therapy is a partnership, and meaningful change happens when you are willing to be open, explore, and do the work along the way.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first sessions, my priority is building a strong therapeutic relationship and creating a space where you feel comfortable being yourself. We’ll spend time getting to know you, your experiences, strengths, and goals through thoughtful questions and conversation. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels supportive while working toward meaningful change.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is informed by the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood. As a Hispanic therapist, my own experiences with loss, adversity, family dynamics, and resilience have deepened the compassion and empathy I bring to my work. Years of volunteering and supporting others have reinforced my commitment to creating a space where clients feel safe, valued, and empowered.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe therapy should be individualized and collaborative. I meet clients where they are—not only during the process of building rapport, but in each session as their needs, experiences, and goals evolve. I take time to understand each client’s unique story, strengths, culture, and perspective while tailoring my approach to support meaningful growth. Drawing from CBT, relationship-based approaches, and attachment principles, I help clients build insight, develop coping skills, strengthen relationships, and navigate challenges with greater confidence.
