She specializes in supporting adolescent mental health, folks in the LGBTQIA+ community, and women’s health.

Jordan attended The University of California-Davis, where she was awarded a B.S. in Human Development with minors in Education and Religious Studies. Get to know Jordan

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I chose to become a mental health therapist because it offers me the unique privilege of being a trusted confidant in people's narrative. Safeguarding and cherishing the trust my clients place in me is fundamental to how I approach both personal and professional relationships. As a therapist, I see this role as a profound honor and responsibility, one that I hold in the highest regard.

What types of clients do you work with best?

The clients I work with best are open to exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a collaborative and non-judgmental environment. With that, in order for me to be the best support possible- I do ask that my clients come to session as their most authentic self. Additionally, I have found that my approach is impactful for individuals who are seeking to explore the roots, not only the result or outcome, of their concerns, challenges, stressors throughout their lifetime.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am the most excited to work with clients who are wanting to begin or continue their mental health journey. Regardless of your identity or past, my continuous aim is to serve as a non-judgmental and empathetic space that both encourages, and at times maintains accountability, so that you are able to reach your desired outcome. I want to thank you for your willingness to come this far- it is not easy. I invite you to join me hand in hand to create a space where you don't have to apologize for your thoughts or feelings, or the heaviness of it.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I am a human first and therapist second. If you ever find yourself questioning whether a particular experience or feeling is unusual, strange, different, frightening, embarrassing, etc., please remember that simply by experiencing it, it is a part of the human condition. Whether I have personally felt something similar or have supported others who have, your experiences are exclusively yours - but this does not diminish their human validity.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose Thriveworks because of their emphasis on accessibility and innovation, which allows me to reach and serve a diverse range of clients. I believe that Thriveworks provides an excellent platform for me to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals seeking support and guidance that I may never have crossed paths with otherwise.

What inspires you?

As you embark on a personal growth journey, you're compelled to embrace change, unlock your full potential, and adopt fresh perspectives. Personally, I've discovered that undertaking my own journey and walking alongside others on their growth journey, personally and professionally, has been a profound source of inspiration for me.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients can anticipate a welcoming and non-judgmental atmosphere during our sessions. It's important for you to use this time in a manner that best serves your needs—this is your dedicated space. I understand that in the first session, you may not choose to share all parts of yourself- I completely understand. Those protective parts serve a purpose, and I look forward to delving deeper into their significance together as we progress beyond our first meeting.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

During your initial session, my aim is not solely to address a single concern, challenge, or stressor. Instead, I aspire to understand you as an individual and the life experiences that have influenced you. Together, I hope we can lay the foundation for a fulfilling therapeutic journey, nurturing the potential for growth and healing.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

What I want clients to understand is that I am here as a member of your support team, standing beside you on your journey. It's important to recognize that while I can provide guidance and tools, the real catalyst for change, growth, and seeing the world in a new light comes from within you. Your efforts, energy, honesty, and willingness to hold yourself accountable in our therapeutic space are what truly pave the way for accomplishing the goals you've set for yourself.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

In my time off, you can find me engaging in anything and everything creative! I love re-upholstering furniture, painting, and creating digital art. On the weekends, you are most likely to see me trying out a new fun restaurant, playing with my sweet puppy, and spending time with my friends and family!

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

Growing up, I lived all across the world! Whether it was for one month or one year, my family would often find ourselves in a new city, state, or country to best accommodate my parent's jobs. As a result, I have had the incredible privilege and opportunity of being immersed among a plethora of different cultures, religions, and beliefs throughout my lifetime. I find that these childhood experiences have greatly shaped the woman, and human, I am today!
