About Jeanie

I am an associate clinical social worker (ACSW) with 21 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADD/ADHD, and life transitions. I also support individuals seeking healthier coping strategies and greater emotional balance as they move through challenging seasons of life.

I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of California at Los Angeles, with concentrations in gerontology and health. My clinical approach integrates dialectical behavior therapy and psychodynamic therapy, with a focus on setting realistic, attainable goals that support long-term growth and resilience.

When life feels overwhelming or difficult to manage, therapy can offer clarity, support, and direction. I provide a thoughtful, collaborative space where you can explore challenges, strengthen coping skills, and work toward meaningful change. I invite you to schedule a session when you feel ready to take the next step.

"As a minority female with Vietnamese-American refugee parents, I understand the unique challenges of transgenerational trauma and have an authentic understanding of how we are impacted by factors stemming from grief, loss, and how we can use what we’ve learned to feel empowered once again."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I wanted to effect change and help those in crisis and in need find solutions to help empower themselves and live their best life!

What types of clients do you work best with?

All types, pediatrics mostly.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

The biggest critic is ourselves and that you are probably doing a lot better than you think you are. Because we internalize what is around us, it is easy to become a prisoner of your perceptions. In the Chinese language, the character for "crisis" is also the same character for "change".

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Clients can expect a sense of calm in their first session with me. The early stages of therapy I hope to make engaging and comfortable to help self-reflect and overtime, find new ways of approaching or looking at the situation to better manage it.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

A personal experience or values form my practice as a therapist/provider is you are the commander of your ship. I have learned that nothing in your life happened for no reason. It has played a small part to make up who you are as a whole person.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

How I tailor therapy to meet each client's unique needs is to meet the client where he/she/they are at and to understand the client's lens are always changing by the experiences and feelings that come from those experiences to form their overall outlook.
