Get to know Elizabeth
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a counselor after my own experiences in play therapy and counseling. Having that safe space meant so much to me that I wanted to provide that opportunities for others.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I love working with middle school clients and late 20s/early 30s as these are two times in life with a lot of transitions and self-discovery.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Counseling is hard, it takes a lot of work but you don't have to do it alone
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session can feel a little weird, it's a lot of information gathering and not very indicative of the modalities I work out of. The first session will give me an opportunity to learn about you, to build rapport, and develop a treatment plan together for what you would like to address in session.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy reading, hanging out with my dachshunds, and spending time with my partner and step-son in my time off.
