About Daniel
Daniel Brezenoff is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in community mental health and private practice. He has also taught human services and social work at California State University, Dominguez Hills. Daniel works best with clients who are motivated, open to new insights, and committed to engaging in therapy over time. Daniel offers a compassionate space to explore stress, grief, anxiety, and identity.
Daniel earned a Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina. Daniel’s approach is holistic, supportive, and conversational. He listens without judgment, creating a space where clients feel safe and empowered. He helps individuals identify their goals, explore their values, and build the insight and self-love needed for lasting change.
In today’s fast-paced world, many feel overwhelmed and disconnected. He helps clients release inherited shame, connect with their truth, and build resilience through values-based care and meaningful self-reflection.

Get to know Daniel
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I began as a teacher, and taught in a psychiatric hospital. I found myself very interested in the clinical aspect of our services, and found that I had some skill in assessment and building rapport. I felt strongly called to pursue this path as a way to be of service and help people in their most vulnerable moments.
What types of clients do you work with best?
People who are living unconventional lifestyles or have countercultural beliefs, work as artists, etc. People who have never been in therapy. Neurodivergence - autism, adhd, bipolar DO.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Motivated clients who have never been in therapy
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That everyone struggles, some are just more committed to hiding it.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A warm reception, an open ear, a big space to say or ask whatever they need without interruption or judgment, and some clear feedback and direction.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
For them to feel comfortable with me, have a chance to tell me the most important things on their mind and ask any questions they have, and for me to begin getting an idea of who they are and why they are in therapy.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am easy going, very present, flexible, open-minded, and experienced.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Hiking, cooking, guitar and drums, gardening, basketball. I'm also very involved in the civic life of my community.

I try to see the forest and the trees
