About Annie

Hello! I have a deep love and appreciation for the field of psychotherapy and welcome you in considering me for services. I have worked with clients from all areas of life, all ages, with some very specific needs to some that need help figuring out what keeps them feeling stuck. While I am very fond of working with children, youth and families, I am dedicating my time now working with only adults. Life, in general, is likely more frustrating than manageable. Life is also proving to be more complicated than obvious or predictable.

Depending on your needs and purpose, I expect that we will work on specific goals after an initial period of understanding each other, and you will find our conversations will include reflection on how thoughts influence actions. Got patience? I do, and we will work on this together if it's not your strength.

Come and share with me what's going on, your thoughts and feelings about things, especially if it's something you don't feel comfortable saying to friends and family.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

As a child I moved around a lot and remembered that one school counselor helped me cope through all the changes. Even at a young age, I recognized that having someone I could share my feelings with made a significant influence in helping me develop coping skills and a stronger bond to my personal identity. I credit entering this field to all the adults in my life that have spent the time to listen and be present for me, so that I can reciprocate this for others.

What types of clients do you work best with?

Working with me means you will expect enthusiasm, reflection and attention to goals.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process.

I believe healing in mental health is contagious and that when someone has reached healing, it is natural to help others reach a level of healing as well. This includes any person that experiences or has a mental health disorder, which is a condition of health that one needs to address and learn how to manage.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

I believe it is crucial to spend the first few sessions getting to know my clients , the life they are living and the life they want to live.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I believe health care is a right and not a privilege. As a therapist, my purpose is not to judge anyone's life or tell anyone how to live their life.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

All services with clients will include treatment plans that are created together with each client.
