About Sharon
I'm Sharon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience helping adults navigate life's challenges. I have worked in various behavioral health settings, providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, and relationship concerns. I enjoy working with adults and older teens who may feel overwhelmed or stuck. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and accepted while we work together to identify strengths, overcome obstacles, and create lasting change.
I provide a compassionate, collaborative approach that helps clients gain insight, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful change. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and substance abuse. Clients can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where they feel heard and supported.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but you don't have to face life's challenges alone. Whatever you are experiencing, you'll be met with compassion, respect, and support. If you are ready to begin your journey toward healing and growth, I invite you to schedule an appointment.

"I believe therapy works best as a partnership wherein we work together to discover your strengths and create meaningful, lasting change."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Having experienced significant anxiety (from an early age) and the devastating thoughts and feelings that go along with it, I made a decision to help others who were also experiencing those symptoms. I did not want other people to go as long without treatment and I wanted to help others understand what they were experiencing. I believe that knowledge is very helpful when a person is experience anxiety and/or panic disorder.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Older teenagers and adults who are ready to make positive change. With that being said, I realize that some people don't know how to start making positive change and I am willing to help them with that as well.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
It is not just for severely mentally ill people! It can help people who are struggling with the "little things" and it can help people through all of life's transitions. The body and mind work together so mental health is necessary for health itself.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect to be met with warmth and compassion and to be heard. Client can expect a non judgmental environment. It is my intention to offer hope and to encourage them to find their strengths. Clients can expect that I won't hesitate to collaborate with other professionals or make appropriate referrals in order to help them reach their goals.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Clients don't need to know how much you know but they do need to know how much you care. Clients have often taken a deep breath at end of sessions and said, "Thank you for listening to me; I feel better." This is before anything has resolved or changed. That has taught me how much people just need to be heard.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy in a way that sounds very simple. I meet the person in the situation they are in. This was one of the lessons that resonated with me in social work school and it always helps me if I'm not sure where to go next (direction in therapy).
