About Pamela
Pam Goucher is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both Arkansas and Tennessee with over 30 years of experience. She has worked with clients who have a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar, trauma, parenting and relationship issues.
Pam earned her Bachelor's degree Behavioral Sciences from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, and her Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Tennessee-Memphis. Her counseling style is warm and interactive. She believes in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Her therapy style is eclectic, though she tends to lean more towards cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and family origin issues.
Pam believes it's important to remember that whatever you're feeling is normal for what you are experiencing. Anyone in your situation would most likely be feeling the same way. You will figure it out together. Pam looks forward to working with you from the very first session.

"Life can be challenging and it's so much easier when we don't have to do it alone."
Get to know Pamela
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I've always enjoyed helping people. I am an empath so my career choice was perfect for my heart. I've never regretted my decision to be a clinical therapist!
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with any client who would like to work with me.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That they're not "weird" or "crazy". There is no "normal". No perfect people. We do the best we can with what we know at the time...and that's all anyone can do. We don't know until we know. That's just reality.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I would like for the person to feel comfortable and begin to develop some emotional safety with me. I would also like for them to know that I do care and want them to feel better. I want them to feel heard and valued...that what they're saying matters and makes sense.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
That I am friendly and easy to talk with. I'm open minded and non-judgemental. I will ask questions in order to know you better (which sometimes makes it easier in the beginning). I truly want you to feel better and I understand how it feels when you don't.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Spend time with family/friends. Read. Take walks in nature. Watch movies.
