About Christie
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with 28 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families in a wide range of clinical settings. My professional experience includes school-based services, adult case management, inpatient psychiatric treatment, therapeutic foster care, and medical social work. Having worked continuously in the mental health field since 1996, I bring a deep understanding of the diverse challenges individuals and families face and a strong commitment to individualized care.
I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of New England. My therapeutic approach integrates solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and practical coping strategies that promote lasting growth and resilience.
In practice, I provide therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transition challenges. I value meeting you where you are and creating a safe, supportive space for healing and personal growth. When you’re ready, I welcome you to schedule an appointment and begin this work together.

"As a female clinician with deep experience in mental health, I meet clients where they are and work collaboratively toward their goals."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a therapist because of a deep desire to help others and a lifelong commitment to advocacy and support. My personal and professional experiences, particularly working closely with children and adults who have disabilities and those facing social and economic disadvantages, have shaped my understanding of resilience, compassion, and the importance of accessible mental health care. These experiences have reinforced my belief in meeting people where they are, recognizing their strengths, and honoring the unique challenges they face. As a therapist, I am committed to creating a supportive, respectful, and empowering space where individuals and families feel heard, understood, and encouraged to move toward meaningful change.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional distress, and challenges related to self-esteem. I support clients who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and who are seeking greater balance, clarity, and confidence in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
What I wish clients knew about therapy is seeking therapy is not a sign of weakness-it's a meaningful step toward understanding yourself and caring for your well-being. Therapy is a process, and growth often happens gradually, sometimes in ways that aren't immediately visible. Trusting that process allows space for insight, healing, and change to unfold. At the heart of therapy is self-determination. You are the expert on your own life, and your values, goals, and pace guide our work together. My role is to support, encourage, and walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity, resilience, and emotional well-being.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session is focused on connection and conversation. It's a chance for us to get to know one another in a comfortable, open, and supportive space. There's no pressure to share everything at once-we'll talk at a pace that feels right for you. The session is about understanding what brings you to therapy, what you hope for, and how I can best support you. Continued sessions to build a collaborative relationship ground in trust, respect, and openness.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is informed by both professional training and personal life experiences. Navigating life's challenges, including the loss of family members, has deepened my empathy and strengthened my understanding of grief, resilience, and healing. These experiences have shaped the way I show up for clients-with compassion, patience, and respect for each individual's journey.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I value each client's unique needs and personal beliefs, including spiritual or faith-based perspectives, and honor the role they may play in healing and growth. I believe therapy works best when it's tailored to your unique needs. Sessions are collaborative and flexible, allowing care to align with your experiences, values, and goals.
