About Lorene

As a licensed therapist with over three decades of experience, I specialize in supporting individuals through life's complex challenges. My practice centers on helping clients navigate stress, anxiety, relationship dynamics, and healing from past traumas. I bring a compassionate, faith-informed approach to counseling, with a deep understanding of issues affecting women, veterans, and older adults.

My therapeutic work focuses on empowering clients to develop self-love, improve communication, explore life purpose, and work through codependency. I'm particularly skilled at supporting individuals in processing difficult experiences, finding paths to forgiveness, and building resilience.

Drawing from extensive clinical experience, I create a supportive environment where clients can explore their challenges, develop coping strategies, and move toward personal growth. My approach is rooted in respect, understanding, and commitment to helping each person discover their inner strength and potential.

Get to know Lorene

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I started out with a desire to become a medical technologist and did become one after earning my degree in psychology. I also met my spouse during that time frame who also became a medical technologist and was placed as the chief of the lab which booted me out to work in the psychology department. That's when I realized that this field was and is indeed my calling. So here I am!

What types of clients do you work best with?

Adults.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

That itherapy will work if you put in the work.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

Clients can expect to agree with the common guidelines of therapy i.e. respect, expectations, and desires to change.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I personally believe that my spiritual background and beliefs along with my education in the field has helped me to have compassion for people who are struggling with life issues.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

Mostly be asking them how they best learn.
