Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I became a counselor to help others recognize their strengths and become change agents for living the best they can.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work well with all clients but currently work primarily with adults dealing with substance abuse issues.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with all clients who are ready do the work required in counseling!
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That they are the expert, not us. YOU are your biggest advocate!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose Thriveworks because it gives me the flexibility to be more present for my clients.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by families and being of service to others.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session is usually focused on fact-finding. I like to begin with the end in mind and figure out "what do you hope to get out of this experience?" and build from there.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I would like clients to identify their end goal, what they most desire to get out the process.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
My approach to counseling is more of being a cheerleader and coach. I am open to letting you have autonomy about your care.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy good movies, cooking and baking and enjoying any time I can be next to water!
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I think one thing that defines me is my resiliency.
