About Bree

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience. I specialize in supporting clients through anxiety, trauma, self-doubt, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and understanding space where healing feels possible. I value helping clients who may feel uncertain about making changes but are motivated to manage stress, set boundaries, or find balance. My goal is to provide tools that guide you toward clarity, confidence, and healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges.

I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama. My work draws from evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and person-centered counseling. I am committed to meeting you where you are with empathy and practical strategies for meaningful change.

I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can explore challenges and discover new coping methods. With warmth and guidance, I help you build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. You don’t have to do this alone because I’ll walk with you at your own pace toward healing and growth.

"I know starting therapy can sometimes feel a little uncertain, so I want you to know this is a space where you can take things at your own pace."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

“I became a counselor because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s stories and wanted to create a space where others feel truly seen, supported, and empowered. My experiences with struggle and healing showed me the power of having someone to walk alongside you, and I wanted to offer that same support to others. I also chose this path because I believe in people’s capacity to grow, and I wanted to dedicate my work to helping others find clarity, resilience, and hope.”

What types of clients do you work with best?

“I work best with clients ready to explore their thoughts and emotions, even if they’re unsure where to start. Many of my clients come to me struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, or life transitions, and we work together to build confidence, resilience, and self-compassion. I connect most with clients who feel stuck in old patterns but want to make meaningful changes. Whether navigating relationships, managing stress, or rediscovering a sense of self, I support clients who are motivated—at their own pace—to grow and create balance. I work best with clients who value a collaborative relationship and want a safe space to be heard without judgment. I especially enjoy helping individuals who feel overwhelmed by expectations, adjust to new life chapters, or seek more authentic connections.”

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

“I’m most excited to work with clients ready to explore their inner world, even if they feel uncertain or stuck. I especially enjoy supporting those navigating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, or life transitions, and helping them discover new confidence and clarity. I feel energized working with clients motivated to create change in their lives, whether that means improving relationships, setting healthy boundaries, struggling with addiction, or building resilience. I love collaborating with people who are open to exploring challenges and strengths. I’m most excited to work with clients who long to feel more grounded, connected, and authentic in their daily lives. Together, we can uncover what’s been holding them back and take steps toward a more balanced and fulfilling future.”

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

“One thing I wish all clients knew is that you don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy—just showing up is already a powerful first step. I wish every client knew that they already have strength and resilience within them; therapy is about uncovering and building on what’s already there. Furthermore, I wish clients knew that struggling doesn’t mean something is ‘wrong’ with them—it’s a human experience, and seeking support is a sign of courage.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

“I chose to practice at Thriveworks because their mission aligns with my own—to make high-quality, compassionate care accessible so clients can get the support they deserve without long wait times. I was also drawn to Thriveworks because of their supportive community of providers and the resources they offer, which allow me to focus on giving my clients the best care possible. Finally, I chose Thriveworks because I believe in their commitment to accessibility, growth, and client-centered care. I wanted to be part of a team prioritizing client well-being above all else.”

What inspires you?

“I’m inspired by the courage clients show when they open up and take steps toward change, even when it feels uncomfortable or uncertain. I also find inspiration in witnessing resilience—how people can grow, heal, and create meaning even through life’s hardest moments. Lastly, I'm inspired by the possibility of helping people connect more deeply with themselves and others and the hope that small shifts can create big transformations.”

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

“In our first session, clients can expect a safe, welcoming space where we get to know each other. We’ll discuss what brings them in, what they hope to gain, and set a comfortable pace for each client. Also, during the first session, I’ll listen to your story, ask questions to understand your needs better, and collaborate with you to begin shaping goals for our work together. My priority is making clients feel supported and at ease. Clients can also expect their first session to focus on building comfort, exploring what’s important to them, and beginning to identify the changes they’d like to see. It’s a chance to start the journey without pressure or judgment.”

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

“My goal in the first session is to help clients feel safe, heard, and understood while beginning to build a trusting relationship. I want to learn what brings the client in, understand their goals, and start building a plan together at a comfortable pace. I aim to create a space where clients feel comfortable sharing their story and leave them with hope that positive change is possible.”

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

“Clients should know I lead with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Without judgment, I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you. Before scheduling, clients should know that I value creating a safe, supportive environment where they can explore challenges openly while learning practical tools for change. I believe therapy is a collaborative process—you bring your expertise on your life, and I bring strategies and support to help you move toward your goals.”

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

“I enjoy reading, being outdoors, and running in my free time. Outside work, I love spending time with my family and friends, and finding new running trails to recharge. I enjoy doing anything outdoors that helps me stay grounded and inspired.”

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

“One thing that defines me is my curiosity—I love learning new things, whether it’s through books, travel, or conversations with others. What defines me most outside of work is my commitment to kindness; I try to approach people and life with compassion and openness. Another defining part of who I am is how much I value relationships—I find joy and meaning in being present for the people I care about.”
