I have 30+ years working in mental health. I became a Registered Nurse in 1994. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014, a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2018, and a PostMaster's Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in 2024. In October of 2024, the American Nurses Credentialing Center certified me as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Across the Lifespan, Board Certified (PMHNP-BC). I have worked in mental health in private practice, local hospitals, state hospitals, and currently work for the federal government in the Veterans Health Administration.
My approach is evidence-based, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and talk therapy. I will work closely with you discussing past and current symptoms, lifestyle, and your goals for seeking treatment. With all this information, you and I will collaborate and plan for your treatment.
I am here to help you. You will be seen and heard. I will listen to you for understanding and together we will plan for your care.

"I believe mental illness impacts all of us and we all have a right to navigate through that with compassion and understanding qualified providers."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
As a person who grew up seeing mental illness untreated, I wanted to help those who want to heal and live a fulfilling life.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are open and honest with themselves and committed to their care and treatment.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
It can be hard, but it gets better and is so liberating.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect a welcoming, honest, non-judgmental provider.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Each client's care is tailored to their unique needs by listening to them and understanding their care preferences, aligning them with therapeutic interventions.
