Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I am deeply passionate about helping people recover from mental illness and reach their full potential. Seeing the positive changes that occur when individuals receive the right support and treatment continues to inspire me and reinforces my commitment to providing compassionate, patientcentered care.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are seeking a supportive, nonjudgmental partnership in their mental health care. Whether someone is experiencing challenges with mood, anxiety, life transitions, or more complex mental health conditions, I strive to meet them where they are and help them build on their strengths. I enjoy working with individuals who are ready to explore meaningful change and actively participate in achieving their treatment goals.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is a process. Progress often comes with ups and downs, and setbacks do not mean failure. Recovery takes time, patience, and self-compassion.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session focuses on building trust, gathering your history, setting clear goals, exploring treatment options, and deciding on the best path to help you heal.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My approach is based on the belief that you are in control of your own healing journey. As a provider, my role is to empower and assist you by equipping you with the right tools to achieve your goals.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I pinpoint the patient's existing resilience and coping skills to use them as a foundation for growth. I draw from various evidence-based therapies rather than forcing a single framework onto the patient's problems.
