About Provider

About James

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 10 years of nursing experience, including acute care, emergency room, and critical care. My broad experience across healthcare settings allows me to personalize treatment and medication management for adults, adolescents, and children with anxiety, depression, psychotic disorders, and trauma-related conditions.

I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Walden University, where I concentrated on psychiatric care. My approach to care begins with a thorough evaluation of symptoms and medication needs, followed by continuous collaboration to ensure progress and comfort while prioritizing safety and patient-centered outcomes.

My goal is to provide a compassionate, judgment-free environment where clients feel supported throughout their healing journey. Together, we will develop effective, individualized treatment strategies to reduce symptoms, restore balance, and help you achieve peace of mind and emotional well-being.

Get to know James

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I decided to become a psychiatric provider after having some experience with psychiatric patients during my nursing years. Lot of psychiatric needs in the community and some people with low social economic status were having their lives impacted every day due to psychiatric issues that were unaddressed. Getting into the field helped me provide for my community and care for folks that really need to take their mental health seriously.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with all clients Across the lifespan

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish that all clients know that their mental health is as important as their medical health, and if left unaddressed it can impact your overall health the same way a medical issue will. Getting the proper care will improve your overall well-being.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

My clients can expect a thorough evaluation of all symptoms, coming up with a treatment plan, and medication management that can address all these symptoms. With the end goal of eventually eliminating all symptoms.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

Using experiences in my previous encounters with other clients. A patient centered care that is geared to the patient’s needs.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

Patient focused care with cultural and ethical values dictating type of care provided.

Does CLINICIAN prescribe medications effective for the treatment of ADHD?
