"I believe mental wellness begins with feeling heard, understood, and valued, and I am passionate about creating a compassionate, judgment-free space where you can discover your strengths, build resilience, and feel empowered to thrive."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My journey into psychiatric mental health began with a simple belief: caring for the whole person means addressing both emotional and physical well-being. Throughout my nursing career, I witnessed how anxiety, depression, trauma, and life's challenges affected individuals far beyond their physical symptoms. These experiences inspired me to pursue advanced education in psychiatric mental health, allowing me to provide compassionate, comprehensive care that addresses the person behind the diagnosis. What I find most rewarding is helping individuals feel understood, discover their strengths, and recognize that meaningful change is possible. My goal is not simply to help people manage symptoms but to empower them with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to improve their overall quality of life.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with people who are navigating anxiety, depression, chronic stress, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, or the psychological impact of chronic health conditions. I especially enjoy working with individuals who feel stuck, struggle to balance life's responsibilities, or want to regain a sense of control and purpose. Whether you're seeking emotional relief, healthier coping strategies, or personal growth, I provide a supportive, judgmentfree environment where we can work together toward meaningful change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish every client knew that seeking mental health support is a sign of strength, not weakness. You don't have to wait until life becomes overwhelming to ask for help. Healing is not always a straight path, and progress often begins with small, meaningful steps. You deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported throughout your journey. My goal is to help you recognize that change is possible and that you already possess strengths we can build upon together.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

During our first session, my priority is to create a welcoming, comfortable space where you feel safe sharing your experiences without fear of judgment. I'll take time to understand your concerns, personal history, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. We'll explore how your emotional, physical, and social well-being may be connected. Together, we'll identify your priorities and develop a personalized care plan. In our early sessions, we'll focus on building trust, identifying patterns, strengthening coping skills, and setting realistic goals at a pace that feels right for you.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My approach is shaped by over 20 years of caring for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, often during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. These experiences have taught me the importance of compassion, cultural sensitivity, resilience, and truly listening to each person's story. I value treating people with dignity, respecting their individual experiences, and recognizing that mental health is closely connected to physical health, relationships, and everyday life. I believe effective care begins with understanding the whole person, not just their symptoms or diagnosis.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I recognize that no two individuals experience life's challenges in the same way, so I take a personalized, collaborative approach to care. I consider each client's concerns, personal strengths, cultural background, lifestyle, and treatment goals when developing a plan. Depending on your needs, I incorporate evidencebased approaches such as cognitive behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, supportive psychotherapy, and practical stressmanagement strategies. I regularly assess progress, encourage open communication, and adjust our approach to ensure your care remains meaningful, realistic, and aligned with your goals.
