About Jennifer
I'm a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (RN, MSN, PMHNP) with over three years of experience providing patient-centered care to adolescents and adults. I have worked with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, adjustment disorders, and sleep disorders. Many clients come to treatment feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of how to regain stability. I strive to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healing journey.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized to each client's unique needs. I treat the whole person — combining medication management with therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies. I work with clients to help them understand their symptoms, identify triggers, and develop healthier ways to manage stress and emotions.
I understand that seeking help can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. Healing and growth are possible with the right support, and I am committed to creating a safe, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. If you are ready to begin, I welcome the opportunity to work with you.

"I strive to create a calm, affirming environment where clients can process difficult emotions without fear of judgment."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychiatric provider because I have always been passionate about helping people improve their mental and emotional well-being. Throughout my nursing career, I saw how deeply mental health affects every aspect of a person’s life, relationships, and overall quality of life. I wanted to make a greater impact by supporting individuals through some of their most difficult moments while helping them feel heard, understood, and empowered. Becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner allowed me to combine compassionate care, clinical knowledge, and advocacy to help individuals manage mental health challenges, achieve stability, and work toward healthier, more fulfilling lives.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents and adults who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, OCD, adjustment disorders, and sleep-related concerns. Many of my clients are navigating stress, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, relationship challenges, or difficulty managing daily responsibilities. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to better understand themselves, improve their emotional well-being, and develop healthier coping strategies. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and judgment-free, allowing clients to feel comfortable, heard, and actively involved in their treatment and healing journey.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is not about being perfect or having everything figured out it is a process that takes time, patience, and self-compassion. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and you do not have to face life’s challenges alone. Mental health treatment is not about judgment; it is about creating a safe space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes at your own pace. Even small steps toward healing can lead to significant growth and a better quality of life.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgmentfree environment where they can openly discuss their concerns, symptoms, experiences, and treatment goals. I take time to get to know each client as a whole person, including their mental health history, current challenges, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatment experiences. The initial sessions are focused on building trust, gaining a clear understanding of what the client is experiencing, and developing a personalized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, education, and coping strategies. During the early stages of treatment, clients can expect collaboration, open communication, and ongoing support as we work together to identify patterns, manage symptoms, and establish realistic goals for progress. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable, heard, and actively involved in their care while creating a path toward emotional stability, healing, and improved overall wellbeing.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is deeply informed by my belief that every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. Throughout my nursing and mental health career, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds who were facing emotional pain, trauma, stress, and complex mental health challenges. These experiences strengthened my compassion, empathy, and commitment to providing patient-centered care that treats the whole person, not just their symptoms. I value trust, authenticity, cultural sensitivity, and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship. I understand that seeking mental health treatment can be difficult and vulnerable, which is why I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being open about their experiences. My goal is to empower clients through education, encouragement, and evidence-based care so they can build confidence, resilience, and lasting emotional wellness.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor treatment to each client by recognizing that no two individuals experience mental health in the same way. I begin by taking time to understand each client’s specific symptoms, personal history, cultural background, life circumstances, and treatment goals. From there, I develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, psychoeducation, supportive therapy, and practical coping strategies based on what will be most effective for that person. I also believe in ongoing collaboration and flexibility, so treatment is continuously adjusted as clients grow, progress, and their needs evolve. Some clients may need more structured symptom management for conditions like ADHD, anxiety, or mood disorders, while others may benefit from deeper support around trauma, stress, or life transitions. My goal is to meet each client where they are, respect their pace, and work together to build a plan that supports meaningful, sustainable improvement in their mental health and quality of life.
