About Tierra
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 8 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care to adults facing challenges such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and insomnia. My goal is to create a supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to navigate life’s transitions with greater balance and emotional resilience.
I earned my Doctorate in Nursing from Francis Marion University. My approach is rooted in trauma-informed care and focuses on medication management combined with therapeutic strategies tailored to each person’s goals. I emphasize collaboration, respect, and empowerment as clients work toward personal growth and improved well-being.
I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. During treatment, I create a safe, compassionate environment where clients can explore challenges, celebrate strengths, and make lasting change. If you’re ready to take the next step in your mental health journey, know that you’re supported every step of the way.

"As a nurse practitioner with a deep belief in the power of compassionate, evidence-based care, I strive to create a safe space where every client feels heard, respected, and supported on their journey toward healing and growth."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I have a deep passion for mental health and a strong desire to support individuals in finding balance, healing, and hope. I am driven by the belief that mental wellness is just as important as physical health and that everyone deserves compassionate, individualized care. Helping people navigate life’s challenges, cope with difficult emotions, and achieve meaningful progress is both inspiring and deeply fulfilling for me.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Clients who are eager for change and willing to do the necessary work to make lasting changes.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Mental health progress is not linear and may have ups and downs, but each step forward is meaningful, and the journey toward healing is a beautiful and worthwhile process
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
When beginning medication management, it is essential to obtain a comprehensive history that not only sheds light on the individual's journey from childhood to adulthood but also highlights their goals for treatment. Obtaining labs to ensure symptoms are not related to a medical phenomenon and meeting each individual where they are.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs by listening closely to their story, understanding their goals, and creating individualized treatment plans that address their specific challenges and strengths.
