About Doris
I'm a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) with over 15 years of healthcare experience. I work with adolescents and adults with a wide range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, and other psychiatric concerns. Many of my clients come seeking relief from overwhelming symptoms and a comprehensive, well-rounded approach to their care, not just medications alone. I am passionate about providing holistic, compassionate, evidence-based care in a judgment-free environment where clients feel heard and respected.
I take a shared decision-making approach, working closely with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, supportive counseling, education, and lifestyle strategies to promote mood stability. One of my goals is to help clients gain insight into their condition so they can effectively manage their symptoms.
Taking the first step toward mental health can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to do this alone. Whether you're seeking support, clarity, or a path toward healing, I'm here to partner with you. Together, we can work toward feeling more balanced, confident, and hopeful. When you're ready, I welcome the opportunity to support you on your healing journey.
"I believe healing begins with feeling heard, so I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free space where we can work together toward your goals."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Throughout my nursing career, I cared for patients in a variety of settings, but I quickly realized that mental health is central to overall health and often goes unrecognized or undertreated. I wanted to make a meaningful difference by helping individuals navigate mental health challenges through methods that don’t involve medications alone-- lifestyle changes and proper diet are equally important in maintaining a stable mood.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Clients eager to engage in a partnership with their provider and ready to play an active role in their treatment plan.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Recovery isn't about being perfect; it's about making progress. Give yourself grace throughout the process, because healing and mental health stability take time, and every step forward matters.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During our first session, my priority is getting to know you—not just your symptoms, but your story. We'll discuss what brought you in, your current concerns, your medical and mental health history, and your goals for treatment. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether you feel comfortable working with me.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe mental health care should never be one-sizefits-all. I tailor treatment by listening carefully to each client's story, understanding what's most important to them, and creating a plan that fits their unique needs, values, and goals. As life changes, treatment changes too. I work collaboratively with clients to ensure they feel heard, respected, and actively involved in every step of their care.
