About Deborah
I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with 30 years of experience providing assessment, diagnosis, and medication management for psychiatric conditions across the lifespan. I specialize in treating depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders, neurodivergence, and women’s mental health in a variety of clinical settings.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing from the University of South Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and English journalism from the City University of New York. My background includes crisis stabilization, outpatient care, substance use treatment, residential programs, and years as an editor of psychiatric research journals in New York City.
I believe treatment should be collaborative and individualized. Together, we will create a plan that aligns with your goals, often blending medication management, education, and brief psychotherapy. My goal is for you to feel supported, heard, and respected throughout your mental health journey, without judgment.

"As someone who has navigated significant life challenges both personally and professionally, I have found that all of us can achieve a level of resilience that keeps life meaningful, no matter what obstacles we face."
Get to know Deborah
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Everyone experiences mental health fluctuations that affect quality of life. There are just different degrees of awareness.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The initial visit will include a thorough psychiatric assessment to develop or confirm a diagnosis. Together we will develop a treatment plan based on the patient’s individual goals, often blending both medication management, education, and brief psychotherapy.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Mental health treatment looks different for everyone. A treatment plan is developed in collaboration with the patient, depending on what their individual needs and goals are.
Does Deborah prescribe medications effective for the treatment of ADHD?
Yes - when clinically appropriate, Deborah may prescribe both non-stimulant and stimulant medication for the treatment of ADHD.
