About Marguerita
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with 22 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and significant life transitions. My approach is grounded in warmth, understanding, and collaboration, with a focus on helping clients feel supported as they work toward healing, insight, and emotional balance.
I earned my master’s degree in nursing from Temple University. My clinical experience allows me to integrate evidence-based psychiatric care with a person-centered approach, supporting clients as they navigate complex emotional challenges and develop effective coping strategies at a pace that feels right for them.
Wherever you are in your mental health journey, you deserve compassion, understanding, and care that honors your individual needs. When you feel ready, I welcome the opportunity to partner with you as you take the next step toward healing, clarity, and lasting emotional well-being.

"I bring a calm, direct, and evidence‑based approach that empowers clients to understand themselves and move forward with confidence."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider after watching my mother struggle with serious medical complications; being by her side showed me how deeply people need compassion, clarity, and someone who will truly listen during their most vulnerable moments, and it inspired me to dedicate my career to providing that kind of care for others.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are ready to be honest about what they’re carrying, people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, or significant life transitions who want a supportive, grounded space to understand themselves, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change at their own pace.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish every client knew that healing isn’t about being perfect; it’s about showing up as you are, taking one honest step at a time, and allowing yourself the compassion you’ve so often given to others.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, clients can expect a calm, welcoming space where we focus on understanding their symptoms, history, and goals so I can provide thoughtful medication management alongside brief therapeutic support; in the early stages of our work, we’ll build a clear plan together, adjust medications as needed, and use short, focused conversations to help you feel more stable, supported, and confident as you move forward.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is shaped by the experience of supporting my mother through serious medical complications, which taught me the importance of compassion, clarity, and genuinely listening during vulnerable moments; those values guide the way I show up for every client, with steadiness, empathy, and a deep respect for their lived experience.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor my approach by taking the time to understand each person’s history, strengths, and goals, then adjusting medication plans and using brief, focused therapeutic conversations to meet them exactly where they are and support the changes that matter most in their daily lives.
