About Leslee
Leslee Blaze is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 21 years of experience providing mental health care to individuals from late adolescence through geriatric years. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar illness, PTSD, substance use disorders, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities. Before becoming a PMHNP, Leslee worked in inpatient adolescent, adult, senior, and chemical dependency units and at a large community mental health center, among other clinical settings. Leslee takes pride in utilizing and offering the best and most current evidence-based treatment.
Leslee has her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. Utilizing care and compassion, she encourages open communication and a holistic approach to mental health care that nurtures physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I saw the need for more quality mental health treatment options and more qualified and experienced providers very early on in my inital career as a nurse and knew 100% that I wanted to be part of the solution.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Those who are motivated to begin treatment and agree that their past does not define them, that their future holds hope and that treatment can provide positive outcomes.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I'm excited to work with each and every client who is invested and motivated to prioritize themselves and begin their mental health treatment journey.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
They are capable and deserve to make their mental health a treatment priority.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to work with Thriveworks as I see the need of offering quality mental health treatment via telehealth sevices in an effort to reach more clients who are seeking treatment in a more convenient setting to meet their treatment needs.
What inspires you?
I'm inspired by the toughness, motivation and ambition of my clients, who work very hard to make positive changes to achieve their optimal level of mental health.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
A warm, caring, compassionate PMHNP who communicates openly and honestly and will meet you where you are in your mental health treatment journey.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Our intial session will mostly focus on you! I want to get to know you, your medical background, your treatment history, social history, your current treatment needs, your goals for treatment and your expectations of me as your mental health provider.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I want my clients to know that I offer a safe and confidential treatment environment, that I'm non-judgemental and that I value and respect their time during our appointment together as they're my priority.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I really enjoy spending time with my family when I'm off. We enjoy walking/playing with our dog, traveling, family game nights, meeting up with family friends, volunteering together and trying new activities together.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my positive outlook on life and my attitude that "this too shall pass" when things aren't going so well.
