About Joel

I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 18 years of experience in nursing and behavioral health. I work with clients across the lifespan who are navigating a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges and are seeking thoughtful, collaborative care. I strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their treatment journey.

I earned my master’s degree in nursing from Eastern University. My clinical approach is mindfulness-based and grounded in helping clients harness the power of the present moment to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences. I value meaningful dialogue and individualized care.

I believe healing begins with connection and self-awareness. My goal is to help you build insight, develop effective coping skills, and move toward the highest version of yourself while living life on your terms. I welcome the opportunity to support you—reach out today to schedule an appointment.

Get to know Joel

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

Becoming a psychiatric provider is the full arc of a mid life profession change which began in my early 30's as a Registered Nurse and has evolved into primary care to serve people in need.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I am comfortable working with clients across the lifespan.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Often times, recovery and or healing on a road to wellness is a spiritual challenge

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

An opportunity to build rapport and trust along with determining the reasons a patient has sought psychiatric services.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I have 20 years of recovery and this informs my practice daily.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

It is first important to understand what a patient desires from psychiatric services then build each session from this starting point.
