Get to know Elina

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I chose to become a psychiatric provider because I’ve always believed in the deep connection between mental and physical health—and I wanted to be part of breaking the stigma around seeking help. Throughout my work in both primary care and psychiatry, I’ve seen how mental health challenges can quietly affect every part of a person’s life. Being able to offer support, understanding, and evidence-based care to help people feel more like themselves again is incredibly meaningful to me.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with individuals who are open to collaboration and ready to take an active role in their mental wellness—whether they’re navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, or sleep-related concerns. Clients who benefit most from our work together are often looking for a provider who values empathy, cultural understanding, and a balance of medical and therapeutic perspectives.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Progress can look different for everyone, and it's normal to have ups and downs along the way. Give yourself grace. u don’t have to have everything figured out to begin—you just have to start.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

We’ll take time to talk about what’s bringing you in, your personal history, and any goals or concerns you have. I’ll also ask about your physical health, lifestyle, and past experiences with mental health care to help me understand the full picture. In the early stages, we’ll work together to develop a care plan that fits your needs—whether that includes therapy, medication management, or both. It’s a collaborative process, and I’ll always move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is deeply shaped by the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported—no matter where they come from or what they’re facing. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and that has strengthened my commitment to culturally competent, person-centered care.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor care by taking a holistic, individualized approach to each client’s needs.

Does Elina prescribe medications effective for the treatment of ADHD?
