About Mercy
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 9 years of experience supporting clients through a wide range of mental health concerns. I specialize in treating mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, behavioral challenges, and women’s mental health. My approach combines compassion, evidence-based care, and a focus on helping clients build clarity, confidence, and resilience in their daily lives.
I earned my doctorate in nursing from Walden University and have extensive experience providing individualized care across diverse clinical settings. I integrate psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to support meaningful change.
I believe healing starts with awareness and grows through intentional, supported change. Together, we will explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns with honesty and compassion. My goal is to help you move from surviving to thriving—restoring calm, clarity, and confidence as you navigate life’s challenges.

"I believe mental health is a meaningful journey, and I’m here to help you navigate it with steadiness, support, and compassion."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I know what it feels like to come from a culture where mental health was not openly acknowledged or understood. Growing up, I saw people struggle in silence — carrying pain, fear, and trauma with no space to talk about it. That experience shaped my passion to change the story for others.
Today, I combine empathy with evidence-based care to help people heal, grow, and find peace within themselves. My greatest fulfillment comes from creating a safe space where clients feel seen, supported, and reminded that they are not alone — that healing is possible, and it’s okay to ask for help.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are ready to grow — even if they’re unsure where to start. Many of the people I help are navigating anxiety, sadness, life transitions, or the weight of feeling stuck. Some are high achievers who look strong on the outside but are struggling quietly within. Others are simply trying to reconnect with themselves after loss, trauma, or burnout.
I especially connect with clients who are open to self-discovery and want to understand the “why” behind their emotions. Together, we explore real-life solutions, build emotional strength, and create a sense of peace that feels authentic and lasting.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish every client knew that healing is not a straight line, it is not linear — it’s a journey of progress, pauses, and growth. There is no shame in needing help, and no weakness in feeling broken. Healing doesn’t mean becoming someone new; it means coming home to yourself, piece by piece.
Therapy is not about “fixing” you — it’s about understanding you. It’s a safe space to unlearn old patterns, release the pain you’ve carried, and discover new ways to live with peace and purpose. Every step you take, no matter how small, is a victory. You are not behind — you are becoming.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, clients can expect a calm, welcoming space where they can simply be themselves. There’s no pressure to have the right words or know where to begin — we start exactly where you are. I take time to listen, understand your story, and explore what brings you to therapy. Together, we begin setting gentle, realistic goals that feel meaningful to you.
In the early stages, our focus is on building trust and creating a safe foundation for healing. You can expect compassion, collaboration, and curiosity — not judgment. As we move forward, we’ll uncover patterns, strengthen coping skills, and develop tools to help you find balance and peace. It’s a partnership rooted in respect, understanding, and hope.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is deeply shaped by both my personal journey and the values I carry close to my heart. Growing up in a culture where mental health was rarely acknowledged, I saw how silence can wound — and how compassion can heal. Those experiences taught me the power of listening, the importance of empathy, and the need to create spaces where people feel safe to be real.
Faith, resilience, and hope guide my work every day. I believe that healing begins when we feel seen and understood, and that every person has the strength within them to rise above pain and rediscover purpose. My approach is not just clinical — it’s human. It’s about walking beside each client with grace, honesty, and belief in their ability to heal and grow.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Every person’s story is different, and so is their path to healing. I take time to truly understand each client — their background, strengths, struggles, and goals — before deciding how to move forward together. My approach is never one-size-fits-all; it’s shaped by your personality, values, and pace.
I blend evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and integrative approaches with genuine empathy and curiosity. Some clients need structure and practical tools, while others need a space to process emotions and be heard. I meet you exactly where you are and walk beside you as you grow. Therapy with me is collaborative, flexible, and focused on helping you feel seen, supported, and empowered to create lasting change.
