About Jae
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 15 years of experience supporting clients across the lifespan. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, mood disorders, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, grounded in helping individuals understand their experiences and develop meaningful strategies to improve their mental health and overall well-being.
I have a Master of Science in nursing from Northern Kentucky University and have extensive experience in psychiatric nursing, hospice, long-term care, and inpatient hospital settings. My clinical focus includes evidence-based, person-centered care that integrates therapeutic support, medication management, and a holistic understanding of each client’s needs.
My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to move toward healing. I value compassion, dignity, and individualized care, and I am committed to partnering with you as you work toward greater stability, clarity, and wellness. Together, we will build a plan that helps you take meaningful steps forward.

"I connect with clients on a personal level, as building trust and encouraging active participation in their own care is crucial to achieving positive mental health outcomes."
Get to know Jae
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Mental health and the healing process are interconnected, with healing involving a multi-stage journey of acknowledging struggles, gaining understanding, taking action, rebuilding, and maintaining well-being. Key components of this process include accepting the need for change, seeking and engaging with support systems, managing emotions, and developing strategies for long-term resilience.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Our initial visit will be between 45-60 minutes, whereby we will discuss your present symptoms and history in order to develop a diagnosis (or diagnoses), and then we will develop a treatment plan together that works best for you. Follow-up visits will be approximately 30 minutes and can be scheduled as frequently as necessary according to your needs. My primary goal is for you to leave our sessions feeling confident that we are moving in the right direction towards feeling your best.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
My primary therapeutic modality is brief supportive therapy (BST), which can be applied to any patient population and to a variety of individual patient needs. BST helps to build and bolster a patient's self-esteem, enhance ego functions (i.e., via the reinforcement of strengths and defenses), and promote adaptive coping skills (i.e., via encouragement and reassurance, psychoeducation, and anticipatory guidance). The goal is to build a strong therapeutic alliance via empathy, collaboration, and active listening.
