About Deebora

I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) and extensive experience providing psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, and community-based settings. I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma-related concerns, ADHD, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and other mental health conditions. I partner with clients seeking greater stability, improved functioning, and a personalized treatment approach to support their mental health goals.

My approach integrates evidence-based treatment, medication management, CBT, supportive psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and individualized care planning. I work across inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, and community-based settings to promote improved mental health outcomes.

My goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout your journey. I believe in partnering with each client to develop a personalized treatment plan that promotes healing, stability, and growth. If you are ready to take the next step toward improved wellness, I welcome working with you.

Get to know Deebora

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I became a psychiatric provider because I believe mental health is an essential part of overall well-being, and every person deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported. Throughout my nursing career, I witnessed the impact that compassionate psychiatric care can have on individuals and families. Becoming a PMHNP allowed me to combine my passion for helping others with evidence-based treatment to support clients in achieving balance, stability, and meaningful change.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are seeking support, understanding, and a personalized approach to improving their mental health. I enjoy working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, sleep concerns, and stress-related challenges, as well as other mental health concerns that impact daily functioning. My goal is to partner with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that promote stability, growth, and overall wellness.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish all clients knew that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Mental health care is a collaborative process, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Finding the right combination of support, education, therapy, and treatment can make a meaningful difference. Progress begins with being open, honest, and willing to take the next step toward wellness.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

During the first session, clients can expect a comfortable and supportive conversation focused on understanding their concerns, history, symptoms, goals, and treatment needs. We will work together to develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, therapeutic strategies, education, and recommendations to support progress. Early sessions focus on building trust, gaining insight, and establishing a path toward improved mental wellness.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My background in psychiatric nursing has shaped the way I approach care today. Through my experiences working with diverse populations across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, I have learned the importance of meeting each person where they are and recognizing the unique experiences that influence mental health. My practice is guided by compassion, dignity, evidence-based care, and a commitment to helping clients reach their goals.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor care by first understanding each client’s unique history, current concerns, treatment goals, and personal circumstances. I consider factors such as symptoms, lifestyle, preferences, and previous treatment experiences when developing a plan. I work collaboratively with clients to identify approaches that feel realistic, effective, and supportive while monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
