Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?
I have always had an interest in the mental health field. I was working as a mental health registered nurse when my brother, who was a veteran, passed away tragically. He struggled with mental health stability and declined seeking professional help. I wanted to utilize my nursing skills to the highest level and be able to help others recognize that it is okay to not feel okay and to seek help. There is no judgement and I will take the time to listen to each unique individual.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
As a provider, I really do care about your mental health and take the time to listen.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I love the opportunity to help increase access to mental health care. The telehealth platform is an excellent way to increase access to mental health treatment for those who are uncomfortable seeking treatment in the traditional office setting due to fears of mental health stigmas or those who are unable to obtain transportation to the traditional office setting.
What inspires you?
Being kind to others. Any opportunity to live a day and to help others in need.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I do a thorough intake and take the time to listen to each unique person's story.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want to accomplish obtaining a thorough history and coming up with the proper treatment recommendations for each unique case.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I truly care about helping clients to feel better and to meet their mental health goals.
What do you do for fun in your time off?
I enjoy camping and spending time with my family when I am off of work.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am an honest person and work hard.
