"I believe healing begins in a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported as we work together to navigate life's challenges, rediscover your strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My passion for mental health care grew from my desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Throughout my 20 years in healthcare, I witnessed how emotional and mental health challenges can affect individuals and their families. These experiences inspired me to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner so I could provide compassionate, holistic, and patientcentered care. I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. My greatest fulfillment comes from helping patients overcome challenges, regain hope, build resilience, and achieve a better quality of life.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, traumarelated conditions, and other mental health challenges. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are seeking a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they can feel heard and understood. Whether you are beginning your mental health journey or managing an ongoing condition, I tailor treatment to your unique needs through medication management, supportive psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). My goal is to build trusting relationships, empower patients to take an active role in their care, and help them achieve emotional stability, personal growth, and lasting mental wellness.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I wish every client knew is that seeking help for your mental health is a sign of strength, not weakness. Healing is a journey, not a race, and progress looks different for everyone. You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out for support. With compassion, patience, the right treatment, and a trusting therapeutic relationship, meaningful change is possible. My goal is to remind every patient that they are not alone, their feelings matter, and even small steps forward can lead to lasting improvements in their mental health and quality of life.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

During your first session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns at your own pace. I will take time to listen, understand your symptoms, review your medical and mental health history, and explore your personal goals for treatment. Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), based on your unique needs. In the early stages of treatment, my focus is on building trust, establishing a strong therapeutic relationship, and helping you develop practical coping strategies. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, respected, informed, and empowered as we work together toward improved emotional well-being and lasting mental wellness.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is deeply rooted in compassion, empathy, integrity, and respect for every individual's unique journey. With over 20 years of healthcare experience and 6 years as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I have witnessed the profound impact that mental health challenges can have on individuals and families. These experiences have strengthened my belief in treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. I value active listening, cultural sensitivity, trust, and collaboration, and I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. My approach is guided by the belief that healing is possible when patients receive compassionate, individualized care and are empowered to take an active role in their mental health journey.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I believe every individual is unique, and mental health care should never follow a one-size-fits-all approach. I take time to understand each patient's concerns, personal experiences, cultural background, strengths, and treatment goals. I tailor care by integrating supportive psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and medication management when appropriate. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based, allowing me to adjust treatment as each patient's needs evolve. I encourage open communication and active participation in treatment decisions, creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered. My goal is to help each person develop effective coping strategies, build resilience, and achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental health and overall well-being.
