About Temitope
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 6 years of experience supporting individuals through challenges related to anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and life transitions. I work with adolescents and adults who are seeking clarity, emotional balance, healthier patterns, or a supportive space to process what they are carrying. My goal is to help you feel understood, grounded, and empowered as you move toward healing.
I hold a master’s degree in psychiatry and mental health and a master’s degree in nursing from Rocky Mountain University. I use evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, and motivational interviewing, to help you understand patterns, build coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
You deserve support that honors your story and meets you where you are. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, helping you move forward with clarity and confidence. If you are ready to take the next step toward healing and renewed peace, I would be honored to walk with you.

"With more than 20 years of nursing experience, a dual master's degree, and certifications in psychiatric care and family practice, I bring clinical expertise and genuine compassion, helping you feel understood as a whole person, not a diagnosis."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My decision to become a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner was shaped by more than twenty years of caring for patients across diverse clinical settings and witnessing firsthand how deeply mental health influences every aspect of a person’s well-being. Throughout my work as a Registered Nurse and later as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I consistently encountered patients whose physical symptoms were intertwined with untreated or unrecognized psychiatric needs. These experiences fueled my desire to provide more holistic, compassionate, and patient-centered care. Pursuing advanced training as a psychiatric provider has allowed me to combine my clinical expertise with a genuine passion for supporting individuals through some of their most vulnerable moments. Today, I am committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care that empowers patients, reduces stigma, and promotes long-term healing across the lifespan.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who value a collaborative, supportive, and solution-focused approach to their care. I am particularly effective with individuals who are navigating complex life transitions such as post-incarceration reentry, trauma recovery, family stressors, or co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions and who appreciate a provider who brings both clinical expertise and empathy to the therapeutic relationship. I also work well with clients who may initially feel hesitant, underserved, or misunderstood by the healthcare system, as I excel at building trust, offering culturally sensitive care, and helping patients feel heard and empowered. Whether working with adolescents, adults, or older adults, I am most successful with clients who are ready to engage in their treatment, open to exploring new strategies, and committed to improving their mental and emotional well-being.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is not a straight line—it’s a process, not a destination. Progress can feel slow, and some days may feel harder than others, but every step matters. Mental health care works best when clients give themselves permission to be patient, honest, and gentle with their own journey. Therapy is not about being “perfect” or fixing everything overnight; it’s about building insight, developing new skills, and creating space for growth, resilience, and self-compassion. When clients understand that setbacks are normal and that they don’t have to go through their struggles alone, it becomes much easier to stay engaged, trust the process, and recognize the small but meaningful victories along the way.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session and early stages of therapy, clients can expect a calm, welcoming, and collaborative environment where their story is truly heard. I focus on understanding who you are, not just your symptoms—by exploring your concerns, your goals, your strengths, and the challenges you’ve been navigating. We will review your medical and mental health history, discuss what brought you in, and begin identifying the patterns or stressors that may be affecting your well-being.
During these early sessions, clients can expect clear communication about what treatment might look like, whether that involves therapy, medication management, lifestyle changes, or a combination of approaches. I take time to explain options, answer questions, and ensure you feel empowered and involved in every decision. My goal is to build a strong therapeutic partnership based on trust, safety, and respect. By the end of the first few sessions, most clients feel more grounded, understood, and hopeful knowing they have a personalized plan and a provider who will support them each step of the way.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice as a provider is shaped by over two decades of caring for individuals during some of their most vulnerable moments, which has taught me the importance of compassion, dignity, and truly listening to each person’s story. Working with diverse and often underserved populations, including those navigating trauma, chronic stress, or reentry after incarceration, has strengthened my commitment to equity, cultural humility, and holistic care. My dual training as an FNP and PMHNP allows me to recognize the deep connection between physical and mental health, and I approach every client with empathy, patience, and a collaborative mindset. These experiences and values guide me in creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel respected, empowered, and actively involved in their healing journey.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs by taking a personalized, whole-person approach that honors their individual history, strengths, culture, and goals. In our work together, I listen carefully to understand not just the symptoms but the context of life experiences, stressors, medical factors, and personal values that shape their challenges. From there, I incorporate evidence-based strategies that best fit their situation, whether that includes supportive therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, medication management, or practical skills for daily coping. I also adapt the pace, communication style, and interventions based on how each person learns, processes, and responds. My goal is to create a flexible, collaborative plan that evolves as the client grows, ensuring they always feel understood, respected, and supported throughout their healing journey.
