About Dominique
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 8 years of experience providing mental health care to individuals across the lifespan. I support clients experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, stress-related challenges, adjustment concerns, mild mood disturbances, and situational or relationship-based mental health issues.
I earned my master’s degree in nursing from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. My clinical work emphasizes thoughtful medication management and collaborative care, ensuring clients are informed, supported, and actively involved in decisions related to their treatment and overall mental health.
I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can openly discuss concerns, ask questions, and feel heard. If you are feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to begin, I am here to help you move toward clarity, balance, and emotional well-being. I invite you to schedule an appointment at your convenience.

"I approach every patient with genuine curiosity and compassion, striving to understand their lived experience so we can work together toward meaningful, lasting healing."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I worked as an RN with the mental health providers for 9 years prior to becoming a provider. I witnessed the monumental changes that can arise with medication management, a readiness for change, and with counseling to change people's lives for the better.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with patients who are open, and willing to start their journey to wellness. I enjoy teaching the patient, and families, about mental health diagnoses, and learning how to cope with, and sometimes predict changes in their mental health to better maintain stability.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients understood that reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
My goal is to make the patient feel comfortable enough with me to share their genuine feelings. I want to fully understand what the etiology of their symptoms are, and what is the best course of action to gain better health.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have cared for many patients through transitions such as relocation or completion of treatment, and I am often thanked for consistently offering a listening ear, genuine empathy, and a supportive, approachable demeanor. I work very hard to ensure I continue to offer this to both my existing, and new patients.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I do not provide full psychotherapy; however, I focus on identifying the underlying etiology of a patient’s symptoms. This includes exploring whether concerns are situational, medically related, or connected to work, peer, or marital stressors. By understanding the root causes of mental-health challenges, we can move beyond simply treating symptoms and begin addressing the underlying factors, allowing patients to make meaningful improvements in those areas of their lives.
