Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychiatric provider because I am passionate about helping people feel heard, supported, and understood during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Mental health affects every aspect of a person’s well-being, and I wanted to make a meaningful difference by providing compassionate care, education, and treatment that helps individuals improve their quality of life and regain a sense of stability and hope.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents, adults, and older adults who are seeking support for depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, insomnia, substance use challenges, and life stressors. I especially enjoy working with individuals who want a compassionate, collaborative approach and are motivated to improve their emotional wellness, develop healthier coping skills, and achieve greater stability in their daily lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that healing is not always linear, and it’s okay to take things one step at a time. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness, and you do not have to have everything figured out before starting your journey. Growth happens through consistency, support, selfcompassion, and being open to the process.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where they can openly discuss their concerns, symptoms, goals, and life experiences. During the first session, I focus on getting to know the client as a whole person, gathering relevant history, and developing a collaborative treatment plan tailored to their individual needs. In the early stages of treatment, clients can expect ongoing support, education, medication management when appropriate, and guidance toward developing healthy coping skills and emotional stability.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I value compassion, respect, and meeting each client where they are without judgment. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice and a belief that every person’s story is unique and deserves to be heard. I prioritize building a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel empowered in their healing process. I also value cultural sensitivity, honesty, and helping individuals regain stability, confidence, and balance in their lives.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor care by taking a collaborative, individualized approach with each client. I start by understanding their symptoms, history, strengths, and personal goals, then develop a treatment plan that fits their specific needs and pace. I integrate evidence-based practices such as medication management when appropriate, psychoeducation, and supportive therapy techniques, while adjusting the plan over time based on progress, feedback, and changing needs to ensure care remains effective and personalized.
