About Noelle
I am Noel Okon, MSN, PMHNP-BC. I began my journey as a psychiatric nurse in 1997, spent over two decades as a bedside nurse across diverse settings, and returned to school to earn my BSN in 2020 and my MSN in 2024, completing my PMHNP-BC certification that May. In February 2025, I transitioned to a psychiatric provider. I specialize in psychiatric evaluations, medication management, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support, with a particular focus on depression and anxiety. I am committed to creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their mental health journey.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centered. I specialize in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and stress-related conditions. My focus is on thoughtful medication management while helping clients understand their symptoms and options. Clients can expect to be active partners in their care, with plans adjusted as needed.
Reaching out can feel overwhelming, especially when you have been carrying pain or anxiety for a long time. If you feel exhausted, stuck, or not like yourself, you are not alone. My goal is to meet you where you are with compassion and understanding. Together, we will build a plan that supports your goals. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

"Witnessing the profound effects of untreated mental health on my loved ones' lifestyles deeply motivates me to offer support and help to those in need. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
As an African American woman it is important to me to promote and address the unique mental health challenges faced by my community and aid in reducing the stigmas surrounding mental health.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Adults.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
A combination of psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy produces a better treatment outcome for the client.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session and early stages of therapy typically focuses on getting to know the client, building trust, gathering information and identifying factors that may contribute to their symptoms or challenges. Together with the client, we develop a treatment plan that is holistic and tailored to their needs.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My experiences working with individuals from different backgrounds has reinforced how deeply mental health is influenced by life experiences, culture, relationships, trauma and access to support. These experiences have taught me the importance of meeting people where they are rather than making assumptions about how their treatment should go.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I would develop an individualized plan of care incorporating a holistic approach for each of my clients.
