Donna has 21 years of experience as a licensed board-certified Advanced Nurse Practitioner. She has spent most of her career in primary care providing preventative care as well as diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions including mental health disorders commonly seen in primary care. Her interest in mental health started as a registered nurse working inpatient psychiatric unit and addictions. Since that time clients with various mental health issues and illnesses gravitated toward her for help and treatment.

Donna's passion for helping people with mental health issues and disorders drove her to seek more advanced training and in 2022 she became a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She now dedicates her career to treating mental health illnesses from children to adults. Donna is passionate about helping her clients achieve relief from their suffering, lengthening their longevity of life, and reaching their full health potential.

Donna completed her post-master's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (life span) degree at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She has a holistic style in approach in that a whole person includes physical, mental, spiritual, cultural, and social components. Therapy and treatment centers around the client's needs and goals. She provides medication management and psychodynamic therapies. Donna also completed her master's degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner at Stockton University in Pomona, New Jersey. She incorporates various aspects of wellness into her practice and can identify medical diseases that impact mental health.

Donna has personal and professional experiences to help navigate life struggles and come out with strength. Schedule an appointment with Donna to see why clients seek her out.

Donna is very understanding and has helped me tremendously. As has speaking with Erica Pena. Between talk therapy and medications, I'm doing much better. Thank you.

Get to know Donna

Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?

It chose me. I have a natural ability and desire to help people. My career as a nurse led me down this path.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Those that want help.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Sigmund Freud says this best, "Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength."

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Thriveworks is a transparent organization with integrity. They are focused on providing the best mental health services for their clients to lead happy and successful lives. Thriveworks allows their providers to practice with full authenticity by not pushing an agenda.

What inspires you?

The ability to create anything.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

1. You will have the opportunity to tell to me what you need and how I can help you. 2. Me: I will listen, not judge, except, and make an evaluation. 3. Both of us will come up with a treatment plan together.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I am the daughter of a rocket scientist.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I'm always striving towards my own self improvement. I read, study, and watch YouTube. I love nature, play the violin, travel, and snowboard.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I'm forgiving.
