About Tanya
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 14 years of experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, trauma, mood concerns, and major life transitions. I help clients seeking greater emotional stability, a clearer understanding of their experiences, and guidance through overwhelming or isolating moments. My approach is compassionate, person-centered, and grounded in evidence-based care.
I earned my master’s degree in nursing from the University of Rochester. I blend evidence-based treatment with a warm, collaborative style and draw from person-centered care, trauma-informed practices, and cognitive behavioral strategies. I work with clients to create treatment plans that align with their needs and goals.
I know reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and you don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. My goal is to help you feel informed, supported, and empowered as we explore treatment options together. If you feel I may be a good fit for your journey, I welcome you to schedule an appointment and take the next step toward stability and well-being.

"As someone who has experience with loss, I’m committed to providing care that not only follows evidence-based practice but also honors the emotional realities my clients face."
Get to know Tanya
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a psychiatric provider because after my own experiences, I noticed how limited resources were for people who were struggling with mental health challenges.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents and young adults.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
It is not a linear process and wherever you are currently is okay. No one's journey is identical or has to be placed on a timeline.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect to briefly discuss their medical history, social history, family dynamic, current environment, and previous psychiatric treatment. Following the routine questions, we discuss their goals for treatment and how I may be able to help them meet those goals.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I have experienced loss and barriers throughout my life and journey to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. I have not only been the nurse and the provider, but I've also been the family member of someone experiencing medical/mental health challenges. I believe in transparency with treatment and including people along with the families in the decision making process.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Each session/interaction is patient centered. Due to this, each session may be different and depend on what the clients needs are that day.
Does Tanya prescribe medications effective for the treatment of ADHD?
Yes - when clinically appropriate, Tanya may prescribe both non-stimulant and stimulant medication for the treatment of ADHD.
