Hi, I'm Maria Henry, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than seven years of nursing experience across mental health, substance use, and community settings. I believe care should be compassionate, individualized, and centered on the whole person, not a diagnosis. I work primarily with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, insomnia, substance use concerns, and life transitions. Whether you know exactly what you're struggling with or just know something doesn't feel right, I'll take the time to listen, explain your options, and include you in your care decisions.
My approach is collaborative, supportive, and judgment-free. We'll discuss your symptoms, history, stressors, and goals to build a plan that's realistic for you. When medication may help, I provide thoughtful evaluation and management, considering effectiveness, side effects, and your preferences. My goal is for you to feel heard and confident in your care.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I specialize in medication management for adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, insomnia, and substance use concerns. I use evidence-based treatment and shared decision-making to set realistic goals in a judgment-free space. My goal is to help you feel more like yourself again.

"I’m passionate about creating a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward better mental health and overall well-being."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I’ve always been passionate about mental health and helping people feel heard during some of their most vulnerable moments. I wanted to provide compassionate, judgment-free care that helps people regain stability, confidence, and hope.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adults who are ready to better understand their mental health and take an active role in their care. I especially enjoy supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, insomnia, and substance use concerns who value a collaborative and judgment-free approach.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing isn’t always a straight line, and progress can look different for everyone. You don’t have to have everything figured out, showing up, being open, and taking small steps forward can make a meaningful difference.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect a welcoming, judgmentfree conversation where we take time to understand their concerns, symptoms, history, and goals. Together, we’ll discuss treatment options and create an individualized plan that feels realistic, collaborative, and comfortable.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by compassion, respect, empathy, and the belief that every person deserves to feel heard and valued. My nursing background has also taught me the importance of looking beyond symptoms and understanding the whole person behind them.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor care by taking the time to understand each client’s symptoms, experiences, lifestyle, preferences, and personal goals. Together, we create an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive interventions, education, and collaboration with therapy or other resources when appropriate.
