Fred Amematsro is an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who specializes in managing major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, Bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, insomnia, sleep disorders, and other mood disorders. He has over 6 years of experience, and works with clients ages 5 and up.
Fred earned his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, his Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Shenandoah University, Winchester, Virginia, and his Master's degree in Nursing from Shenandoah University, as well.

Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?
I originally trained to be a family nurse practitioner. But during the course of my program, I realized that there was a huge need for psychiatric providers, so I decided to become a psychiatric provider.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients that I have a good rapport with. As such I mostly strive to have a good rapport with all of my clients.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I am compassionate, caring, and a good listener.

The desire to help patients.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect on their first session to see a provider who will listen to them in a non-judgmental manner.

I will be there for them every step of the way until they get the relief they deserve.

Does Fred prescribe medications effective for ADHD? (Non-stimulant & stimulant medications?)
Yes! Fred is a part of the Thriveworks ADHD Clinic and can prescribe medications that are effective in treating ADHD.
