Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a PMHNP in response to the growing need for integrated, compassionate mental health care, while working to reduce stigma and address disparities in access to treatment.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with motivated adults, young adults, and geriatrics navigating life transitions, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, and insomnia.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish clients knew that healing is not linear, and a setback is not a failure.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients will expect a comprehensive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental psychiatric evaluation in their first session. In the early stages, clients can expect a strong focus on alignment, education, and foundational stability.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Integrity, dignity, accessibility, patient advocacy, holistic care, and quality of care.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I incorporate active listening, empathy, transparency and collaboration.
