About Jack
I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with 3 years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, stress-related concerns, and life transitions. I work with clients from all walks of life and strive to create a welcoming, collaborative environment where you feel heard and respected as a whole person—not just a diagnosis.
I earned my Master of Science in nursing from the University of Michigan. My background includes psychiatric assessment, medication management, and evidence-based treatment planning. I take a patient-centered approach, emphasizing collaboration, education, and thoughtful care tailored to your unique goals.
If you’ve ever felt dismissed or unsure about seeking care, I want you to know you’re not alone. I am committed to providing compassionate, inclusive support and helping you gain clarity and confidence in managing your mental health. I invite you to schedule a session and take the next step forward.

"I am laid-back, love making people smile, and prefer to meet people where they are, rather than where a provider thinks they should be. This is core to my beliefs, not only as a practitioner, but as a person. Everyone should be treated with basic human dignity."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Throughout my training as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I was drawn to psychiatry, and patients who had psychiatric concerns felt like they could talk to me. My professors encouraged me to pursue a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification. Ultimately, I felt called to meet the need (which is endless) of the mental health crisis.
What types of clients do you work best with?
Oh, all types. I have gotten along with practically everyone since I was in high school. At any rate, one of my favorite nursing professors taught us something that really stuck with me. As a healthcare professional "it's not about you." It's about the people you help. So, I don't get in the way.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Well, that it's a marathon, not a race. I think we're so used to being able to "quick fix" things, even some of our health issues-- an eye drop for reddened eyes, pink stuff for indigestion, etc.-- that we have come to expect it for mental health issues, too.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Careful listening, assessment of symptoms, diagnosis of problems according to best evidence-based practices and nationally recognized resources. We'll talk about lots of things, from what's bothering you to what you like to do for fun. Early on, we'll talk about the best path forward in your "healing journey" whether that's counseling, medication therapy, or both.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
As a provider (not to repeat myself) my core belief is that everyone deserves basic human dignity, to be treated like a person and not a number. Maybe because I have felt like that, myself, in the past. Have you ever been treated by someone so... impersonally... that you begin to feel like a cog in a machine? I never want anyone to feel like that because of my practice as a mental health provider.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Therapy should always be tailored to someone's uniqueness. That's the beauty of psychiatric care and counseling. We get to form our therapies specifically to what the patient is needing, and that looks different for every person. I suppose that starts with actually listening to people. After all, they are their own best advocates who know themselves best. They've been living this life, not us.
