I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing evidence-based, person-centered care across the lifespan. I assess, diagnose, and treat anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and substance use disorders. I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults facing emotional distress, life transitions, and mood disorders. Many clients seek relief from overwhelming symptoms and greater emotional balance. I create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard and empowered, and we develop individualized treatment plans that promote resilience and recovery.
My approach is collaborative and evidence-based, helping clients build skills while addressing underlying factors. I integrate psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychoeducation, and supportive therapy tailored to each client's goals. My specialties include anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related, and substance use disorders.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a psychiatric provider because I have always been passionate about helping people improve their mental health and overall quality of life. I have seen how compassionate, evidence-based care can empower individuals to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve meaningful personal growth. I believe that every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported, regardless of where they are in their mental health journey. Becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner has allowed me to combine my clinical expertise with my passion for providing individualized, holistic care that addresses each person's unique needs, strengths, and goals. My greatest reward is partnering with clients as they gain confidence, develop healthier coping skills, and make lasting progress toward emotional wellnes.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents, adults, and older adults who are motivated to improve their mental health and overall well-being. I enjoy helping individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, substance use disorders, and life transitions. Many of my clients are seeking relief from overwhelming symptoms, healthier ways to cope with stress, improved relationships, and greater emotional balance. Whether someone is seeking support for a recent challenge or managing a long-term mental health condition, I strive to create a collaborative, nonjudgmental environment where they feel safe, heard, and empowered to make meaningful, lasting changes.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish every client knew is that healing is not about being perfect—it is about making steady progress, learning new skills, and giving yourself the grace to grow. Mental health recovery looks different for everyone, and it's normal to experience both successes and setbacks along the way. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and meaningful change happens through a collaborative relationship built on trust, honesty, and consistency. My role is to provide guidance, support, and evidence-based care while empowering you to build resilience and achieve your personal goals at a pace that feels right for you.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During your first session, my priority is getting to know you as a person—not just your symptoms. We'll discuss your current concerns, personal history, mental health background, medical history, lifestyle, and treatment goals. I'll take time to understand what has been working for you, what challenges you're facing, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. If medication is appropriate, we'll review options together, including potential benefits, risks, and answer any questions you may have. In the early stages of treatment, you can expect a collaborative and individualized approach. Together, we'll develop a treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies tailored to your needs. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing openly, actively participating in your care, and making meaningful progress toward improved mental health and overall well-being.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by the belief that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. Throughout my healthcare career, I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds and have seen how mental health challenges can affect every aspect of a person's life. These experiences have reinforced the importance of listening without judgment, recognizing each person's unique strengths, and providing care that is both evidence-based and individualized. I value collaboration, cultural humility, honesty, and empathy, and I believe the strongest therapeutic relationships are built on trust, open communication, and shared decision-making. My goal is to empower clients with the knowledge, support, and tools they need to achieve lasting emotional wellness and an improved quality of life.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor treatment to each client by taking time to understand their unique experiences, challenges, strengths, values, and personal goals. I recognize that no two individuals have the same mental health journey, so I use a personalized, collaborative approach to develop a treatment plan that fits each person's needs. This may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, psychoeducation, supportive therapy, and evidence-based strategies to help manage symptoms and improve daily functioning. I consider each client's preferences, background, lifestyle, and readiness for change while working together to identify realistic goals and meaningful steps toward progress. My goal is to provide care that feels individualized, respectful, and empowering, helping each client feel supported throughout their healing process.
